Hunter Education Field Day Class
Hunter education courses teach new hunters responsibility, ethics, firearm safety, wildlife conservation and wildlife identification, game care, survival, and first aid. Michigan Tech will be offering a Field Day Class at the Student Development Complex on Saturday, April 19. This is a Home Study Hunter Education Field Day. Participants are required to read the material and complete the worksheets before the field day. An email will be sent to the students when the books arrive so they can pick them up.

Pistol League
Michigan Tech Indoor Range Bullseye Shooting League allows for a great time shooting with friends and family with just a little competition mixed in. Ten sessions will be held on Sundays from 3:00-5:00 pm. Rules are simple, and you can practice during the range posted
Public times. All scoring targets will be shot in one continuous string of fire. You may shoot as an individual, with a 2-person team, or both. Open to MTU students and the general public.

Police Pistol Combat (PPC) Match
Michigan Tech’s first ever indoor PPC (Police Pistol Combat) match will be April 5, 2025. Safety briefing at 8:30 am, event runs 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, with awards to follow. Awards will be given for 1st through 3rd in Master, Expert, Sharpshooter and Marksman in three shooting categories - Semi-Auto, Open, and Revolver. A Top Dog award for top shooter will also be given for the best combined score in all 3 events. Door prizes and other giveaways will take place throughout the day. Open to ages 10 and up.
