The Michigan Tech Shooting Range in the SDC offers a one of a kind group experience with our Group Outing Shooting Range Rental. We are fully equipped to handle private events to include shooting as either a team building experience or recreational outing. Our certified staff are here to make your event one to remember in a safe and fun environment for the most novice of gun operators to the most advanced. We can provide the following services customized to fit your group outing:
- Range resources including all required safety equipment
- Instruction or fun competition
- Safe range viewing area
- Rental equipment
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of age
- Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult chaperon.
- Safety briefing, completion of liability release and weapon registry required on day of event (prior to starting).
- Range Standard Operating Procedures apply.
- Maximum number of participants per hour for any rental is 24 (chaperons required for minors are not included in this total). Two Range Safety Officers will be provided for 1-16 participants and three for a group of 17-24 participants.
Range Rental Fees, July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027
To reserve the SDC Shooting Range:
- Make a reservation HERE.
- Reservation requests must be submitted 48 hours in advance Monday-Friday and will be confirmed via email from the SDC Facilities Operations Office. Please call 906-487-2578 if a confirmation is not received prior to the event. Accurate number of participants is required for staffing purposes.
- Payment is required at the time of the event and must be made prior to the rental.
