Multipurpose Room & Indoor Track
Located on the first floor of the SDC, the Multipurpose Room is your place for indoor basketball, volleyball, badminton, climbing wall, punching bags, pull-up bars and a track. The space features a hardwood floor with space for multiple sport courts. Surrounding the courts is our indoor track - a synthetic floor that covers a regulation-shaped, five-lane, 200-meter track. Michigan Tech students have access to the Track through student fees. Faculty, staff, and the general public can purchase SDC Access in a variety of price and length options.
Impact Zone
Introducing the Impact Zone—your go-to space for deadlifting and heavy lifting. Located in the northeast corner of the Multipurpose Room, this area is designed to support high-impact strength training. If you're lifting heavy, we encourage you to use the Impact Zone to help protect equipment and create a better workout environment for everyone.
Racquetball Courts
The SDC has three courts designed specifically for racquetball and wallyball. Located on the first floor of the SDC, courts can be reserved by the hour
online or by calling 906-487-2761. Reservations for racquetball courts must be made online at a minimum of 24 hours in advance. Reservations for racquetball courts made less than 24 hours prior to the reservation time must be made in person or over the phone with the Multi desk attendant at 906-487-2761. An SDC membership or Michigan Tech student ID is required for all players.
