Registration and payment can be completed online or at the SDC Ticket Office. Shooting Range release, safety briefing, and weapons registry will be completed on event day. The SDC is not responsible for lost or stolen property. Please do not leave valuables unattended.
Michigan Tech’s first ever indoor PPC (Police Pistol Combat) match will be April 5, 2025. Safety briefing at 8:30 am, event runs 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, with awards to follow. Awards will be given for 1st through 3rd in Master, Expert, Sharpshooter and Marksman in three shooting categories - Semi-Auto, Open, and Revolver. A Top Dog award for top shooter will also be given for the best combined score in all 3 events. Door prizes and other giveaways will take place throughout the day. Awards will be given immediately following the competition as soon as the scores are tallied.
Shooting will be done on a B-27 reduced target at 10, 15 and 25 yards. 30 rounds, total of 300 points per run. $10 entry fee covers one run and a door prize ticket. Each additional run is $7 with the maximum of six runs (cash only payable in the Range). You may use any pistol as long as it is a Centerfire 9 mm .38 Special or larger with no optical sights allowed in the Semi-Auto or Revolver categories. No alibis. If the gun has a red dot, a muzzle brake, mag well or any combination of the three, it’ll be in the Open category.
Course of Fire (mags loaded to a maximum of 6 rounds)
- 6 shots standing at 10 yds in 10 seconds
- 12 shots at 15 yds kneeling in 30 seconds (with reload)
- 12 shots at 25 yds standing in 30 seconds (with reload)
We will be using the Lewis class system to determine alignment of classes.
Classes
- Semi-Auto - any 9mm or larger caliber with iron sights. No red dot, no compensator, no mag well
- Open Class - 9mm or larger, red dots allowed, compensators & mag wells
- Revolver - .38 Special or larger, iron sights

About the Range Master
Jeff Stroud, educational consultant, started 906 Tactical in August 2008. Jeff is the MTU Range Master as well as a NRA Chief Range Safety Officer & Instructor, Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners (MCRGO) Master instructor, Range Master Master pistol instructor, I.C.E.
