Bullseye Shooting League

Michigan Tech Indoor Range Bullseye Shooting League allows for a great time shooting with friends and family with just a little competition mixed in. Eight sessions will be held on Sundays from 3-5p. Open to MTU students and the general public.

All scoring targets will be shot in one continuous string of fire.  All targets will be B-8 centers scored to a 300 point possible. Rules - shoot any gun you want with any optic or iron sights (your defensive CPL gun preferred). You can practice as much as you like but scored target will be shot in one string on a NRA-B8 center. Shooting will be timed and done at the 7, 10, 15, 20 and 25 yard line. Scores will be kept for the 8 week session and all scores added together to get the top shooter 1st through 3rd place with trophies handed out at the conclusion.

Special Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 years old.
  • You may use any handgun you want with any optic or iron sights (your defensive CPL gun preferred).
  • All shooting will start from low ready. NO DRAWING FROM A HOLSTER.
  • Shooters may choose to shoot one or two-handed.
  • Eye and ear protection

The two-hour free parking window for MTU students, members and community patrons using SDC and Gates Tennis Center facilities is now administered through the ParkMobile app.
Parking sessions beyond two hours will be charged $1.50 per hour for the additional time, plus a 45-cent ParkMobile transaction fee.
To start a ParkMobile session, scan the QR code posted on signage in the lot, visit the ParkMobile website, or download the ParkMobile app from the App Store or Google Play. Don’t have a smartphone? You can still start a session by calling 1-800-280-4149 or texting “Park” to 77223.

About the Range Master

Jeff Stroud, educational consultant, started 906 Tactical in August 2008. Jeff is the MTU Range Master as well as a NRA Chief Range Safety Officer & Instructor, Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners (MCRGO) Master instructor, Range Master Master pistol instructor,  I.C.E. Defensive Coach & Counter Ambush Training instructor, US Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) Defensive lvl 1 instructor, MCOLES authorized trainer, a cadre-level instructor for Combat Speed LLC, a graduate of Dave Spaulding's Legacy Complete Package Course, and a graduate of Shivworks ECQC Course.

Jeff is a member of the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA), the US Practical Shooting Association (USPSA), the RUDY Project National Shooting Team, and the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA).
