Equipment
The Skate Rental Center is stocked with a full inventory of new Riedell skates and CCM helmets. Our equipment, available in youth and adult sizes, is for the campus and surrounding community to enjoy. Both skates and helmets are required while on the ice surface.

*Equipment is first-come, first-serve. No reservations accepted. Equipment may be picked up just prior to each session and returned immediately after.
Skate Aides
Just learning how to skate? We've got you covered! You can rent skates as well as our new skate aides! Our skate aides are designed to help first time skaters stay up on the ice. The skate aides are wheelchair friendly and stackable for participants of all heights. We have (12) skate aides available for use, first come first serve.

Cost
- Skate rental is $5.50 and skate aide rental is $5 and paid for at the SDC Ticket Office during open hours or using the QR code at the Skate Rental Center. Please bring your ticket to the Skate Rental Center or show your receipt to the attendant to pick up your skates.
- Helmet issue is free and can be checked out at the Skate Rental Center.
- A signed equipment waiver is required each semester and will be kept on file at the Skate Rental Center.
- Admission fees are separate from the skate rental fee.
Sanitization and Maintenance
All equipment is tracked for usage and will be sanitized after each use. Maintenance checks and repairs will be performed on a specific schedule.
Skate sharpening service for both hockey and figure skates, youth and adult sizes, will be available at the Skate Rental Center during the semester.
Skate Sharpening Schedule
Sundays, 5:30-7:30 pm
- Available on: September 14, 21, 28, October 5, 12, 19, 26, November 2, 9, 16, 30, and December 7
Sharpening Cost
$6/pair
Payment for skate sharpening service will be taken using the QR code located at the Skate Rental Center. Receipts can then be shown to the Skate Rental Center Attendant to receive service. Payments will only be taken during the scheduled times; equipment can not be dropped off prior or picked up at a later time. No outside equipment will be stored overnight.
Skates should be brought to the skate rental center during the days/times listed above, and your receipt for payment needs to be shown to the Skate Rental Attendant to confirm payment. Skates will not be sharpened if the receipt is not shown to the Skate Rental Center Attendant.
