Huskies Diving Clinic

Make a splash with the Huskies Diving Clinic! Whether you are stepping onto the board for the first time or looking to perfect your competitive list, our program offers springboard coaching for every level. We provide a safe, constructive environment where beginner to advanced athletes can build confidence, refine their mechanics, and master the art of the dive.

Program offerings are based on age. Participants must have graduated level 2 of the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program or equivalent and can easily jump off of the 1 meter diving board and swim to the side of the pool unassisted.

Space will be provided for personal items on the pool deck. Showering is required before entering the water. Class size is limited.

Location

SDC Pool

The Student Development Complex lap pool and dive tank are licensed by the State of Michigan and inspected by the Western U.P. District Health Department. Accordingly, the water is analyzed and the temperature is taken daily. The new heating system keeps the water constantly between 82-83 degrees.

Special Requirements

All students must have appropriate swimwear (no cutoffs or street clothes) and a towel. A parent or legal guardian is required to sign waiver of liability and concussion awareness forms for all youth classes during the registration process.

Youth Supervision in Locker Rooms

To help ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all participants, we strongly recommend that a parent or guardian accompany their child in the locker room at all times.
If you are using the pool and your child is not able to be accompanied by an adult in the locker room, we kindly ask that they use the private changing tents located on the pool deck instead.
Thank you for helping us keep our facility safe, respectful, and welcoming for everyone!

Spring 2026

New Registration System
We’re upgrading to a new recreation program registration system to better support youth and adult programs!
Important for Parents/Guardians:
To register your child for any youth program (like swim lessons or youth sports), you’ll need to:
    1. Create your account *Note: Due to system constraints, only current students, faculty, and staff may use an MTU email. All others must use or create a different email address to create an account.
    2. Add your children as your affiliates (with their date of birth)
    3. Register your child through their affiliate profile (profile options in top right corner), not your own, for any program with an age requirement

This ensures accurate participant info and correct age group placement.
Create your accounts early to be ready!

Additional information on how to create your user account can be found here.
