P.O.W.E.R. SKATING HOCKEY SKILLS SESSIONS

Michigan Tech Recreation is pleased to announce the upcoming P.O.W.E.R. SKATING HOCKEY SKILLS SESSIONS. The main focus of these sessions will consist of deep edge control, quick transitions, agility and balance drills in addition to many other skating movements that are applicable to the game of hockey. On-ice sessions.

Daily Ice Schedule

6-6:50pm 8U
7-7:50pm 10U
8-8:50pm 12U/14U/HS


*Above age groups are for the 2018-2019 hockey season. Please note that the above times and/or age groupings are subject to slight adjustments or changes based on the number of players enrolled at each age group. If need be, you will be notified of any changes before the start of the clinic.

Required Dress

Full equipment required.

Cost

  • Pre-registration on or before July 31 via email - $55/skater
  • In person walk-up registration - $65/skater

Registration: Email completed registration form to Marcie Kierpiec on or before July 31, 2018. Include parent name, phone number, participant name, clinic age group and level of play for 2018-19 season.

Payment: Cash/check payable to Marcie Kierpiec on prior to first session on Tuesday evening. A parent or guardian must sign a waiver of liability.


About the Instructor

Marcie Kierpiec

Marcie Kierpiec is a Level 4 coach through USA Hockey with 31 years of coaching experience. Marcie has vast experience working with hockey players of all ages within the state of Michigan and northern Wisconsin. She is the lead skating instructor for the Michigan High School Hockey Excellence program and the U16 Compuware AAA team in Plymouth, MI. In addition, she is also the off-ice strength coach for this team. Marcie recently completed her degree in Exercise Science with a focus on Strength and Conditioning which included an internship last fall with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program in Plymouth, MI. While doing her internship, she worked with both the U18 and U17 teams during their off-ice training sessions, as well as on ice with the U17 team by assisting their regular power skating instructor.
