This camp is designed specifically for players with goals of improving their overall technique and tactical knowledge of the game. Through the All Skills Camp, you’ll fine-tune your technique and advance your knowledge of the game. We will focus on how to successfully play the game above the net (blocking and attacking) and work to improve the fundamentals—serving, passing, setting, and defense. There will also be a segment devoted exclusively to position training. You’ll have a blast meeting and playing with new friends in the SDC Varsity Gym and Multipurpose Room while staying on Michigan Tech’s awesome campus.

Plenty of rigorous drills, practice, and game play.
This camp is open to girls entering grades 9-12 as of fall 2019. A packet of required forms will be sent to participants via email once their application is processed. The required forms must be submitted prior to the start of camp.
Live-In $192.50; Commuter $130
Payment in full is due at time of registration. Refunds, less a $50 cancellation fee are available until July 4. After July 4, refunds less the cancellation fee will be issued for medical reasons only.

Important Information regarding Participant Meals
In general, the residence hall cafeteria provides live-in participants breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. Commuter participants are provided lunch and dinner depending on the duration of camp. Please refer to individual camp schedules for differences in meal options and locations. Special dietary needs and allergies will be asked for on the confirmation packet that participants receive after being accepted into camp. You can always call our office in advance to discuss your participant's situation, and we can put you in touch with our Dining Services Team for a proactive approach to ensure a great experience at our camp.
Important Information for Live-In Participants
Residence Hall for Live-In Participants
Live-in participants stay in Wadsworth Hall on Michigan Tech's campus, just a short walk from the Student Development Complex (SDC), where Michigan Tech Sports Camps are held. Rooms in the residence hall are furnished with bunk beds, dressers, and desks. Dorm rooms are not air-conditioned, so students are encouraged to bring a fan. Linens, pillows, and blankets are provided. Students must bring two to three towels. Restrooms and showers are conveniently located on each floor. The residence hall has lounges, cable TV, and a recreation room. Laundry facilities are available. Students must bring their own laundry supplies. Participants receive round-the-clock supervision. Note: Lost key $75.
Parking for Live-In Participants
Live-in participants who drive themselves to camp are asked to park in Lot 17 Lower for the duration of camp. Upon check-in, parking passes will be available for purchase. Cost of the pass if $15. Keys will be surrendered at the time of check-in and returned at check-out at the end of camp.
Room Occupancy Policy for Live-In Participants
Participants living in the residence hall will room with members of their own age group. Rooms are equipped for two people. We do not take requests for 3-person rooms. Participants also do not room alone. Roommate requests must be made by both participants and will be asked for on the confirmation packets that participants receive after being accepted into camp. Participants not requesting a specific roommate will be paired up with another person in their age group. All roommate assignments are prepared ahead of time and do not happen at time of check-in.
Check-In Procedure for Live-In Participants
All live-in participants will first check in for camp at Wadsworth Hall. (DO NOT GO TO THE SDC!) See individual camp schedule for specific check-in time. Upon arrival, park in Lot 15W at the front of Wadsworth Hall and come in through the main entrance. There will be directional signs to follow for check-in which will take place on the basement level. Please leave all personal belongings in your vehicle until after the check-in process has been finished. Photo IDs, handbooks, room assignments, keys, medicine check-in, etc. are just a few items that will be taken care of during the live-in check-in process. Once participants are settled in their rooms, welcome meetings with counselors will take place on-floor. Again, see individual camp schedule for further details. Lunch in the cafeteria on the first day of camp is not included in your camp fees, but is available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Family members are welcome to purchase meal passes at the Wadsworth Hall front desk.
Check-Out Procedure for Live-In Participants
At the end of camp, parents should communicate with their participants to arrange when and where they would like to meet after check-out. Parents should park in Lot 15W at the front of Wadsworth Hall and wait for your participant in the lobby of Wadsworth Hall. Participants will be checking out on-floor with their counselor first (packing up/cleaning, turning in keys, etc.) and can then bring their luggage down to the lobby when they are done. Staff will be available to answer questions. Lunch in the cafeteria on the last day of camp is not included in your camp fees, but is available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Family members are welcome to purchase meal passes at the Wadsworth Hall front desk.
Late Arrival Procedure for Live-In Participants
When our participants are set to arrive late (arrangements MUST be pre-approved or an emergency delay must be called in to the Summer Youth Programs 24 Hour Emergency Line, 906-483-7651. Parents and participants first must report to the front desk at Wadsworth Hall to check in and meet with a head counselor who will have materials ready for them when they arrive. The parent and participant will go through signing in and dropping off their stuff to their assigned room. Once this is taken care of, a counselor will escort the participant to wherever it is they need to be.

Meet the Coach
Through his first five seasons leading the Huskies, head volleyball coach Matt Jennings has orchestrated an impressive rebuilding of the Michigan Tech volleyball program. Under the leadership of Jennings and his staff, the team has gone from last place in the GLIAC to a fourth place finish last season and the No. 5 seed in the GLIAC tournament. After 34 total wins in his first three years in Houghton, Jennings and the Huskies have a 35-27 overall record over the last two seasons. The Huskies have reestablished themselves as a competitive presence within the GLIAC, marked by a 21-14 record in conference play and back-to-back GLIAC playoffs appearances in 2015 and 2016. Prior to Tech, Coach Jennings served three seasons as an assistant volleyball at the University of Pittsburgh. The Panthers compiled a 51-44 record during his three years there, including a 20-win season in 2009 and an 18-win campaign in 2011. The Chicago native played men’s volleyball at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, from 2000-03. He was a four-year starter, a two-time all-conference performer and a 2002 Collegiate Club All-American. He helped his team to a national third-place finish in 2002.
Cindy Pindral enters her second season with the Michigan Tech volleyball team and first as an assistant coach. She spent the 2016 season as a volunteer coach for the Huskies. Her duties focus on setter training, offensive coordinating, recruiting, team travel, and scouting. A native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Pindral played at the University of Florida (2008) and the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs (2009-11). Pindral was the starting setter as a freshman at Florida. She led the team in assists and led offense to the Sweet 16, an SEC championship, and a No. 10 national ranking. At UCCS, she played for former US Men's National Team star Keith Barnett and was a three-year starter. She was the 2009 Mountain Lion MVP and a CoSIDA Academic All-American. Pindral played the 2012 winter season professionally in the Italian Serie C League as the starting setter for Gio Volley Aprilia. In high school, Pindral was a two-time first team all-state selection, four-time Rocky Mountain Region All-Star, a 2007 All-American, and a 2007 Andi Collins Award Finalist (nation's best senior setters). She played club for Colorado Jrs and was named the outstanding setter at the 2007 prepvolleyball.com classic. Pindral began her coaching career with Colorado Jrs Volleyball Club where she was a head coach and assistant coach with various levels over three seasons. She has also worked camps at the University of Texas, Air Force Academy, and UCCS.
