Track & Field Clinic - Grades 7-12

For Boys & Girls, Grades 7-12. Information will also be provided to coaches.


Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Check-In Time: 8:30-9:00 a.m. at the SDC front counter


SDC Multi Purpose Gym

Clinic will start with a 1/2 hour warm-up for all participants. There will be 4 time slots for event specific technique work for each athlete. You can choose to work on one event all day or spend time in multiple event groups. All skill and experience levels are welcome. Available sessions include: 

  • Block starts
  • Hurdling technique
  • Shot put
  • Discus
  • High jump
  • Pole vault (must bring your own pole)
  • Long jump

Special Requirements

A parent or guardian must sign a release waiver and a concussion awareness form at the SDC Ticket Office before participation in the clinic will be permitted. An admission ticket will be given once the Ticket Office has the signed forms.


$50 (including coaches)

Meet the Coordinator

Jake Isaacson

Jake Isaacson became head coach of the Michigan Tech track and field program in June 2016. He also serves as head coach of the cross country program. Isaacson spent the 2015-16 school year as a graduate assistant coach with the track and field and cross country programs at Michigan Tech. Prior to Tech, he was an assistant coach with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana.

The native of Menominee, Michigan, attended Grand Valley State, where he was an NCAA Division II All-American in cross country in 2012. He was also a two-time qualifier in the steeplechase at the NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships. As a prep athlete at Menominee High School, Isaacson was the UP Champion in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters in 2008. Isaacson is currently pursuing a second graduate degree in Master of Science in Kinesiology from Michigan Tech. He also holds degrees from Indiana State University and Grand Valley State.
