Looking for a state-of-the-art fitness center with all of the modern amenities? Look no further than the Michigan Tech Fitness Center.

The Fitness Center, located on the second floor of the Student Development Complex (SDC), has everything you need to make your workout successful:

  • The latest in aerobic exercise equipment, including stair climbers, elliptical machines, treadmills, rowing machines, upright and recumbent stationary bikes, and more
  • An extensive range of weight machines and free-weights
  • Exercise balls, tubing, and other resistance training equipment
  • A spacious, climate-controlled facility with all the comforts, including a large flat-screen TV cinema
  • On-site fitness specialists
  • Individualized personal training programs

New to the exercise scene or just want to see all that the Michigan Tech Fitness Center has to offer? The SDC offers complimentary tours for new and prospective members. Take a tour with a professional staff member, view the machines and equipment, ask questions, find out if the Fitness Center is right for you, and schedule a personal training appointment. Join the Fitness Center Circuit Training program for a group approach.

Receive unlimited access to the Fitness Center by purchasing an SDC membership. Memberships are available in a variety of price and length options. Corporate rates are also available.

Adult supervision is required for all children at the SDC under age 12.  Fitness Center participants must be 16 years old for admittance without a parent.  Children between ages 12-15 must have parental supervision while in the Fitness Center and must purchase a SDC personal training session prior to admittance to the Fitness Center.

Complimentary mini lockers available (ideal for ID's, wallets, phones, etc.).

Fitness Center Coordinator

Ann Hoover is a local resident of Hancock, Michigan. She is currently the Fitness/Aquatics Coordinator for the SDC. She has been working in the health and fitness industry for 20 years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Fitness Management from Northern Michigan University. She has worked in many areas of health and fitness including: Personal Training, Fitness Coordinator, Spinning Coordinator, Fitness Class instructor, Running Clinic Coordinator, Health Instructor for programs such as PATH (Personal Action Towards Health) and a previous committee member with the local Canal Walk/Run event.

Ann has an extreme passion for exercise and truly enjoys helping others improve their lifestyle to be fit, healthy and empowered! Her love for exercise keeps her active, strong and enables her to feel great about herself as a woman, mother, and professional. Her greatest passions are weight training, marathons, triathlons, and being active with her family.
